Hobart Main Street Director

Stephen Boyd began as the Program Director in 2002 just after Hobart was chosen as a Main Street Community.  After twenty-seven years in education he retired from the Hobart Public School system as the Principal at Hobart Elementary School.  He has also been a District Executive of the Boy Scouts of America in Cushing, Dallas, and El Paso before returning to this area.  He has farmed and ranched in the area for many years and still maintains a cow/calf operation.

He has been married to his wife, Debbie, for thirty-one years and has four children and seven grandchildren.

“Being the Director of the Hobart Main Street Program has given me the opportunity to see progress being made in the downtown area through the last two and a half years.  Working with the many volunteers and merchants has been very enjoyable because of their determination and willingness to see that Hobart progress and grow.  I have had the privilege of being associated with progressive people who want to get things done in Hobart.  I am very fortunate to be a part of the community that has made great strides in downtown promotion and building restoration projects that has amounted to over a million and a half dollars reinvested in Hobart in the last two and a half years.  Hobart will continue to improve over the years and I am glad that I can be a part of it.”
