Police
The Hobart Police Department is a professional public service oriented department made up of dedicated men and women with a strong desire to serve the public in a professional manner The department consists of several divisions to include records, patrol, investigations, jail and communications to include countywide 911 and dispatching to ambulances and fire. Our jail is a 10-day lockup facility. This allows for the efficient enforcement of municipal arrest warrants through our municipal court system. Command staff is made up of the following:
Chief Dale Uptergrove has over 20 years law enforcement experience to include the last 16 being in management and has been with the department for 8 years. Chief Uptergrove also holds an intermediate certification with the Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training and is certified instructor through that organization. Chief Uptergrove is also a board member of the Oklahoma Association of Chiefs of Police representing the Southwest area of the state.
Assistant Chief Rex Brown has over 20 years law enforcement experience to include the last several years in upper management and is a graduate of the FBI Academy.
Sergeant Aaron King is the detective for the department with approximately 5 years of experience and started with the agency
In following with the desire of the city council to have a professional police department, a larger building has just recently been renovated to expand the ever-growing department to give officers more room. The city council is also ever mindful of the need for new and improved equipment to serve the citizens of the City of Hobart.
