Police

The Hobart Police Department is a professional public service oriented department made up of dedicated men and women with a strong desire to serve the public in a professional manner

The department consists of several divisions to include records, patrol, investigations, jail and communications to include countywide 911 and dispatching to ambulances and fire.  Our jail is a 10-day lockup facility.  This allows for the efficient enforcement of municipal arrest warrants through our municipal court system.

Chief Rex Brown has over 20 years law enforcement experience to include the last several years in upper management and is a graduate of the FBI Academy.

In following with the desire of the city council to have a professional police department, a larger building has just recently been renovated to expand the ever-growing department to give officers more room.  The city council is also ever mindful of the need for new and improved equipment to serve the citizens of the City of Hobart.
