Moonlight Madness and Christmas Lighting on the Square

Moonlight Madness is an annual event that features a special sales event by the merchants in downtown Hobart to promote "Shop Hobart First".  Moonlight Madness is always the Thursday evening before Thanksgiving, which this year falls on November 18th.  Merchants will remain open later than normal in order for shoppers to experience that 'special shopping experience'.  Moonlight Madness will be from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m.  Any organizations, club, sorority, or group who would like to have a sidewalk bakesale, hot chocolate, pop corn, etc. are encouraged to set up in front of participating stores.  Toward the end of the event around 6:45 p.m., the Christmas Lighting on the Square willl occur to officially begin the Christmas shopping season.  The Christmas Tree lighting will begin at 6:45pm and after that there will be a drawing of the 10 turkey or ham certificates.
